Medoo in Bremen

This is, from my poiny of view, the best local restaurant in Bremen. They have a short menu with a delicious variety of dishes with also vegetarian options and they change every day to offer you the freshest food. It is really a place to visit, very cozy and romantic ambient, and, as I said, they food is just amazing with fair prices (not very cheap nor expensive).

Always great and delicious! The Medoo is a wonderful place where authenticity and quality are important. The menu changes daily, but is still lavish and varied. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the large portions and clever dishes. In the "Lockdown Light" you can pre-order by phone and pick up the food less than half an hour later through the window - well done ? And yet the menu is large and different every day. Thank you so much!

It's a small and cozy restaurant. There are constantly changing, attractively prepared dishes that are very tasty. Vegetarians will also find something suitable there. The staff is very friendly and happy to help you choose.

Nice evening spent there with friends. Staff funny on it. Food seems to have been quite good according to friends. Aperol spritz was good!

A total of 5 guests in the cafe and a 15 minute wait until a slightly annoyed waitress came to the table. Eat u drinks well! No visible indication that you should order at the counter 5m away. Same game when paying. Since at least the call that you should come to the cash register. Somehow I don't make sense of it.

Always my pleasure. I can highly recommend the vegetarian plate. My favorite. The salads are great too. Best to reserve.

We went to the Medoo tonight. My daughters really wanted to eat here. I knew that everything was going to be different in the shop. Also that it sometimes takes longer or looks a bit chaotic. But otherwise it was still in the frame. Today we waited almost half an hour for it to be allowed to order when asked. The drinks took a while - behind the counter there was also high life, chaos at it's best. After more than an hour we finally had our starters. The mood threatened to change due to the long waiting time and the increasing hunger. The bruschetta is delicious. The main course came relatively quickly afterwards ... So three of the four plates. The crepe is okay, the cheese noodles are hearty and my noodles with fillet have passed a free float in a fairly thin sauce. I had to look for the fennel a little. The taste too ... The forgotten puff pastry cake was plentiful and tasty. It's a shame that the evening went like this and I'm really sorry about the money.

Five stars despite the justified criticism of others about the equipment and sanitary area. Why? Because the food is just amazing. Because the board is as impractical as it is original. Because the service is not perfect, but always warm. It is simply so much better than what is usually rated with five stars, that the criticism is not enough for deductions in the grade.

First of all: The Medoo has been an absolute favorite restaurant of the whole family for more than 15 years. But after our last visit on Saturday, I'm afraid that it will continue to be ... My daughters and I were looking forward to a delicious meal together and we definitely had an appetite. We had reserved a table outside for 7 p.m. and then waited 2 hours and 45 minutes for our food. The friendly and hard-working waitress apologized in between and brought free drinks that couldn't satisfy the hunger either. Inside you could hear children crying because they were obviously hungry. Many who had waited a long time left to find the nearest fast food place. At some point, despite the stimulating conversation, I couldn't take it anymore, I cried because I had been doing sports all day. So I went home to remedy the situation with a frozen pizza. I'm really worried about the Medoo! What's going on in the kitchen ??? !!!!! (PS: The star is for the friendly and rushed service, who is apparently also the victim of a bad organization.)

So the food was really delicious, there is nothing to complain about. But why only 2 stars? There are drawbacks in the service, the terrace and toilets. Anyone who does not use the long time when the gastronomy was closed to grind the tables and bring them into shape does not, in my opinion, deserve the shop to run. The tables cannot be wiped, the paint is peeling off everywhere and is still peeling on the guests! That is unhygienic and visually absolutely unacceptable! Shameful! (No one seems to care about the rating: no reaction!) The service was nice but not particularly attentive. Neither the empty glass of red wine was heeded, nor was anyone asked whether everything was okay with the meal. Would you recommend dessert or make it tasty? No for what ?! Then it's not possible... The boss doesn't try, neither does the staff ... On the toilet the already painted tile varnish was peeling off, otherwise nothing was mentioned positively either. But the food was technically and tastefully to be praised positively. Well-seasoned, homemade, tender meat. Delicious purely from the food, but I expect more and the store doesn't offer that. It's a shame ... But as long as the boss is so satisfied, it wasn't me and I say: never again!

The operations are extremely easy to deal with and extremely courteous. That makes me and my husband absolutely happy every time they visit, the chairs are extremely comfortable and I find the distance between the tables very decent. There you don't get the feeling of eating fish in a can, the food was not the only thing that caused big eyes in this inn! I really like trying out new restaurants and I am always looking for new restaurants, but I will remain faithful to this restaurant. I was absolutely pleasantly surprised. We will definitely come back.

From our point of view, a detour is highly recommended, the armchairs are extremely comfortable and the distance between the tables is very decent. There you don't get the slightest feeling of dining like sardines in a can. The portions are an appealing and filling dimension.

Increased volume level. Food was okay. Was there with several and opinions were very different. Selection of the dishes interesting and makes you want to try them out.

Been there many times. It has relaxed non-formal atmosphere. I like the way the food is prepared, although do not expect your order to be ready very quickly ))) Also sometimes, especially during winter time, all the tables are taken, so it is better to reserve a table if you're going there in the busy hours (e.g. 6-9pm)

The place is bit busy and the waiters are like fast and furious but the food is very lovely I especially recomend the pork with potatoes I wish their was a touch of jazz music but overall i had a fine lunch.

Medoo gives me a Parisien Cafe culture feeling, the tables and chairs could come from Paris! This is a very popular restaurant and reservations are a must, at 18;30 on Saturday night almost all the tables were reserved, by 19:30 it was a full house, which made this small restaurant quite noisy. Food is what it's all about, and the plates for our party of six all came out very full, all plates were emptied though with complements all round. The menu is a white board behind the bar, and through the night popular dishes were wiped off, so an early reservation is advisable ;) Service was quick and friendly with no mistakes. Medoo is a simple restaurant, no table cloths, definetly not chic or trendy, no uniformed staff, it doesn't pretend to be anything other than somewhere that serves good food at reasonable prices with excellent service. In all I recommend Medoo with 5 stars.

This small restaurant with a relaxed informal atmosphere serves seasonal, local and all time favourite classic dishes, so there is something tasty for everyone! Plenty of choice for vegitarians too! Their scrumptious crêpes with choice filling is what makes this place special. Excellent and friendly staff. Reasonably priced.

Definitely 6/5. Fantastic yogurt lemon mousse with rhubarb. And really nice people. Had the impression that reservation is needed. Love it.

food is not bad, with a vaguely central-european focus. there are vegetarian options, staple food like crepes etc. you'll need to be able to read handwritten German menu.

I went there with my sister for lunch. We waited in front of the counter to be seated, but the waiter/person barely looked at us. We asked if we could simply choose a table and he said yes and continued looking down doing his business. Then we chose a table and a minute later a waitress showed to ask if we had already decided. Noone bothered to explain us how it worked, about the daily menus and so on. We were supposed to choose what to eat by looking at a board on the wall where the dishes were written with very bad handwriting, hard to understand. So we just left. I heard the food is good, but the service was terrible, so not coming back.

Chilled ambiance, tends to get a little noisy when it's busy, but has great quality food and drinks, friendly waitresses and very acceptable prices. Definitely a must-go-to if you want to enjoy real Bremer Viertel vibes.

In August I had the pleasure of dining in the "Medoo". What I think is a positively different restaurant. The people of Bremen obviously like to eat here, because nothing works without a reservation. The "order system" takes some getting used to, because a card is only available in the form of a board in the house. This is quite complicated for guests who are not so good on their feet, because it is already very crowded outdoors. Basically, the food was very good. It came quickly, the salad was fresh and the dressing was homemade. The lamb was very tender and juicy and harmonized wonderfully with the sauce. The same applies to the duck leg and the potato gratin. The fish, as thin as it was, was just as tasty. A big compliment to the cook. I can only recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

I adore this small gourmet corner hidden in the small street! The crepe and soup are wonderful and you must try their peanut, celery and chili soup it tastes great!!
